Circular Economy
To contribute to the preservation of ecosystems, we have implemented a waste transformation process within our company. This cycle applies both to our equipment and materials as well as to the effluents collected during our service rounds.
Responsible Selection of Equipment and Consumables
We select robust equipment, ensuring their use for at least 15 years… or more! The key to this longevity, while maintaining high-quality standards, is the in-house maintenance of our equipment:
-
Our Happee Services workshop, located within our equipment fleet, manages daily refurbishments.
-
Our integrated manufacturer Swittec handles technical repairs and complete refurbishments.
We also prioritize the purchase of recyclable materials: our autonomous cabins are 100% recyclable. Some equipment is repurposed for a second life. For example:
-
Our Bostia dry module was renovated from an old shipping container.
-
Several old caravans or traditional trailers were converted into dry toilet caravans.
The consumables used in our activity are also selected according to strict environmental criteria. Our toilet paper saves thousands of trees each year as it is made from recycled milk cartons, without chemical additives. Our sawdust was chosen for its high absorbency and sourced locally in Normandy.
Water-Saving Innovations
To reduce water consumption in our operations, we have developed an innovative range of sanitary equipment that uses very little water (vacuum and recirculation technologies), or no water at all (waterless urinals, dry toilets).
Carbon Contribution
With the goal of being carbon contributors, we signed an agreement with the Société Forestière de la Caisse des Dépôts. The Enygea Group is engaging in a voluntary approach to offset part of its residual carbon emissions by funding projects in France under the Low-Carbon Label.
Urine Collection and Valorization
Thanks to the innovation of our partner TOOPI Organics, we are able to transform the urine collected in our urinals. Using human urine, we help French agriculture reduce chemical fertilizer imports by 50%. Happee Services operates a dedicated 19-ton gas vehicle for urine collection.
Since 2022, over 70 events have benefited from our urine collection and valorization service, with a total of over 710,000 liters of urine collected.
"Urine provides an excellent fertilizer to replace chemical fertilizers. The SIAP (Interdepartmental Syndicate for Sanitation of the Paris area) is currently publishing a thesis on the subject. That’s why we equip our range of equipment to separate urine from fecal matter, and, together with our partner Toopi Organics, we are testing the revalorization of urine into natural fertilizer for agriculture."
— Faustine Schoutteten, Head of Environment and Quality
Waste Valorization
Since 2020, Happee Services has partnered with the startup TOOPI Organics, which has created a process to transform urine into organic fertilizer. Within this revalorization cycle, Happee Services acts as both a “separator” (providing equipment that separates pure urine from fecal matter) and a “collector” (organizing the logistics of collection with our own fleet of vehicles).
Our office waste is collected and recycled through our partner ELISE.
Additionally, certain specialized operational wastes are collected by CHIMIREC (contaminated or corrosive packaging, aerosols, etc.).
