Inclusive Solutions

Our Mission: Hygiene Everywhere, For Everyone

Our goal is to provide hygiene solutions that are accessible to all, everywhere. To achieve this, we offer adapted versions of all our equipment for people with disabilities, as well as innovations for women to ensure equal waiting times with men.

We also support international sanitary projects to address the critical situation worldwide: 2 out of 3 people have no access to toilets! Notably, we back the Urgent Run Paris charity race: in 2024, we raised over €17,000, enabling a project in Senegal including the installation of a latrine block in Hanène village, the construction of three water fountains, the creation of a sports field, and the distribution of solar kits.

Improving Accessibility of Our Equipment

Promoting inclusion means providing equipment that meets regulatory PMR requirements and the comfort expectations of users with reduced mobility. To support this, 3SA Conseil, specialists in accessibility for people with specific needs, audited our PMR toilet range and helped us define an action plan to further enhance our equipment, offering solutions beyond current regulations.

These improvements include:

  • Access ramps

  • Toilet bowls and mandatory fixtures

  • Doors and opening systems

  • Space within the sanitary units

  • The surrounding environment leading to the cabin

We have now developed cabins that allow full wheelchair rotation inside the unit, ensuring maximum accessibility and comfort for all users.

"Toilets today have become a true social marker, as social inequalities are still too often reflected even in our restrooms! And because the world is changing, it is our duty to ensure that sanitary installations meet everyone’s hygiene needs equally and adequately, everywhere. Regardless of social status, health condition, gender identity, or religious beliefs, we all have the right to proper access to hygiene."

Gender Equality

“If you want to know the true position of women in society, look at the queue for the toilets,” says Dr. Clara Greed, emeritus professor of inclusive urban planning. Women rarely visit public toilets for leisure. Already, there is the waiting time: women spend 2.3 times longer in toilets than men, due to physiological differences.

When it’s finally your turn, you prepare to sit… but no! Women often squat to avoid touching the seat.

At Happee Services, we take these differences in time spent and waiting into account to determine the number of toilets and the appropriate cleaning frequency. We have also integrated innovative female urinals, madamePee and Lapee, designed by a woman for women: they allow quick, safe, and hygienic use, with Lapee accommodating three users simultaneously.

Promoting Professional Inclusion

Beyond accessibility solutions for our clients and users, we actively support internal inclusion within our company. We have established partnerships with organizations specializing in hiring people with disabilities, such as CAP Intérim, CAP Emploi, and ESAT Léopold Bellan. A Disability Officer has been appointed and trained at Happee Services.

Additionally, through some of our suppliers, like Elise (handling recycling of our waste), we help promote employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
