PRESERVING WATER RESOURCES

Our individual dry toilets operate without using any water. Organic waste (feces and urine) is covered with wood chips. This layering, known as bedding, absorbs odours. Every visit to one of our dry toilets saves approximately 8 litres of water.

RECYCLING, SUSTAINABILITY & BIO-BASED MATERIALS

To minimise waste and support sustainable development, we integrate recycling, durability, and eco-design at the heart of our R&D and production processes for eco-friendly sanitary solutions.

The birch wood used in our dry toilet range is gradually being replaced with a compact material that has a natural wood appearance. It is composed of 65% natural paper fibres from forest timber and recycled paper materials. All sources are sustainably certified under FSC® and PEFC standards, ensuring responsible forest management in line with international regulations. This material contains no halogenated organic compounds, asbestos, chemical treatments, sulphur, mercury, or cadmium. Designed for outdoor use and public spaces, it has a lifespan exceeding 50 years, certified by a verified FDES Inies.

Our polyethylene dry toilets are 100% recyclable.

Our dry toilet caravans are made from refurbished old recirculation caravans (20 years or older), which are completely stripped and rebuilt in our SWITTEC production workshop in Hauts-de-France, giving them a second life with true Made in France craftsmanship.

SUSTAINABLE CONSUMABLES

Committed to a comprehensive environmental approach, we pay attention to every detail:

• Toilet paper made from unbleached pulp, 100% recycled from food-grade cartons, certified ECOLABEL

• Wood chips from Nordic softwoods, untreated, supplied by Ecobox, a PEFC-certified company ensuring sustainable forest management

• When waste is converted into compost or biogas, it is packaged in biodegradable corn-based bags, certified OKCOMPOST, made entirely from plant-based materials

URINE COLLECTION & REUSE

To make your cultural, sporting, and music events as environmentally friendly as possible, we offer a unique and innovative urine collection service, in partnership with Toopi Organics, to transform it into agricultural bio-solutions.

In 2022, we supported 7 major events with this approach, collecting over 120 m³ of urine from dry urinals. This not only removed it from the conventional wastewater cycle but also saved nearly 1,440 m³ of water, potentially fertilising 5,000 hectares with an eco-friendly solution approved for market use.

We continue to support your environmental commitments, with a 2023 collection roadmap already counting over 60 committed events!

SOLID WASTE RECYCLING

Organic waste from our dry toilets is converted into compost, biogas, or energy based on three key criteria:

• Proximity of the processing centre to the Happee Services branch or your event site, reducing CO₂ emissions from waste transport

• Traceability: the centre must provide full documentation for the waste

• Sorting capability: before composting, non-biodegradable items that may enter public-use toilets must be removed to avoid contaminating agricultural soils
