Concerning figures around the world.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to the latest UNICEF report, the situation regarding access to hygiene and toilets is alarming. If action is not taken, billions of people will not have access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene by 2030.<\/p>\n

In a few words, what is Urgent Run Paris? <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Urgent Run is a charity sports event designed to raise awareness of the problems of access to drinking water and sanitation in the most disadvantaged communities and countries. The event is being organised around World Toilet Day on 19 November. This year, it will take place on 18 November 2023!<\/p>\n

What do we do during the Urgent Run?<\/em> Participants can either run or walk to raise funds for projects to provide access to drinking water and sanitation in regions affected by the water crisis.<\/p>\n

As part of its humanitarian commitment, WC Loc has been the official partner of Urgent Run Paris for the past five years. Happee Services is committed to providing the race with sanitary equipment free of charge. In 2022, we raised almost \u20ac20,000 thanks to the generous participation and donations of more than 1,300 runners. A construction project has been launched in Senegal to improve school hygiene for the well-being of 648 pupils in the Maka Yop rural community.<\/p>\n

Urgent Run Paris 2023: a new project on the horizon! <\/strong><\/h2>\n

This year, the Urgent Run Paris race is supporting a project run by the NGO ITODJU, a social organisation dedicated to promoting the status of children. The project will be implemented in the Republic of Benin.<\/p>\n

The water and sanitation situation in the Republic of Benin presents many challenges. According to UNICEF data, around 43% of Benin\u2019s population had no access to drinking water in 2020. Around 77% of the population had difficulty accessing sanitation facilities. This situation contributes to the contamination of water sources and the spread of disease.<\/p>\n

To meet these needs and provide better living conditions for Beninese children, the NGO ITODJU is planning to set up a health infrastructure at the ASSIYO public primary school.<\/p>\n

The project: <\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Provide a suitable infrastructure for the natural needs of pupils and teachers;<\/li>\n
  • Help to limit the spread and transmission of water-related infectious diseases (hepatitis A and E, malaria, typhoid, etc.) in the ASSIYO public primary school by promoting good hygiene practices<\/li>\n
  • Set up a school health committee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
